BORN IN CHICAGO, raised in the rolling farmland of northern Illinois, surrounded by the music, art, books, and theater her parents insisted be brought to the table, Devon Wilke learned early to listen to the call of her creative Muses. Never one to limit Little Lorraineher artistic pursuits, she’s designed a career that intertwines theater and rock & roll, photography and design; screenwriting, journalism, and long-form fiction, bringing the sum total of her creative experience to each medium.

A longtime contributor to HuffPost and other news and media sites, her trademark “sass and sensibility” infuses her op-eds, essays, and social commentary with wit, candor, and occasional provocation. Her novels, short stories, and screenplays are rich in vivid characters, plots both unique and recognizable, with, always, an elemental mix of heart and soul. Several of her book covers were designed with her photographs, and her debut novel, After the Sucker Punch, includes a downloadable version of the book’s theme song.

Both her debut novel, After the Sucker Punch, and second novel, Hysterical Love, are available online and in select bookstores. Her screenplay, A Minor Rebellion, an “official screenplay selection” at the 2018 Beverly Hills Film Festival, was also awarded as a semifinalist in the 2018 ScreenCraft Screenwriting Fellowship,  and is currently being adapted as a novel. Her third novel, a contemporary drama titled, The Alchemy of Noise, was published April 9th, 2019 by She Writes Press.

She continues singing, songwriting, and performing concurrent with her writing projects and whenever possible (which, she’d say, is never enough!). You can follow updates at in all arenas at The Press Room page, at the various pages on this website, and via her blog at RockPaperMusic.com and column at Medium.
